The Lilygram: Lily's third month

Lily's third month saw her bravely heading out of the centre into the local village and gathering A LOT of attention, and occasionally a scarily big crowd. I think for many she is the first white baby they've ever seen. But she takes all the attention in her stride and we try to follow. She really is a joy to us and we love her more and more everyday.

Here we heading to the village, but are still on the base and already many women wanted to see her and hold her.

The main reason to go into the village is visit people's homes - we visited Filipe and Rita (Filipe is our counterpart in the kitchen and so the mozambican we know best). They have a daughter Sarah a few months older than Lily. Without any warning Mama Rita gave Lily a presumably traditional first time welcome by dangling her upside down by her legs!

We went to get a custom mini-sized mozambican bed made for Lily.
